More reviews on the new album have been popping up on newstands. The latest issue of Clam Magazine ran me through a series of insightful questions. Check it out here. Thursday 7th November 08
Change has indeed come upon us and rightly so. Funny how It’s taken the blundering and plundering of a misguided bunch of power drunk, morons to bring about the long overdue yet often forsaken selection of an Africa American to have a go at leading the nation. The repercussions of this historical event would be felt globally and particularly back home in Africa for generations to come.
It sure won’t be an easy task and I figure we all have a role to play in this. We’ve called upon Barack Hussein Obama to lead us and we owe as much to him as he in turn does to us. My kinsmen, It’s time to buckle up, settle in and grind on. We’ve now lost a major excuse to call upon for our shortcomings.

We're on the cusp of change, or are we? I mean really, come next week the looming threat of a solid and dark recession would probably not abate if you ask me. To think of it, I believe we're in one already. I graduated right in the throes of a downturn back in England many moons ago, and that experience wasn't pretty.
Either way, I implore you all to get out and cast your lot with whomsoever ye choose, knowing full well you'd have to live with the outcome for decades to come. Our African prince in my opinion would help to induce some form of positive change in the psyche of the many young rebels I see out my window and down the block all too often. I wish I could cast my vote, but being an outsider here in Babylon, I'm not afforded the opportunity to do so at this time.
Change means growth and real growth in turn requires some form of change. Go out 'n vote!!!

first and foremost, I'd love to express my sincere gratitude to all of you who've thus far shown your support and expressed kind words of admiration on the new album. The response and gratitude has been overwhelming and somewhat surprising I must say. Seems like I did strike a chord or two with you afterall.
A few of you might have encountered a glitch or two with the digital store, but I guess the server just wasn't quite prepared for the sheer volume of orders that came through. Y'all damn near broke the thing! Thankfully, the issue has now been dealt with. The album should appear on Itunes, Amazon as well as all the other digital downloading sites in a few weeks.
I'll be officially launching the album with a live show of strength on Thursday, 16th October at SOB's New York. The release show has been timed to coincide with the celebration of legendary Afro Beat pioneer, Fela Kuti's birthday (October 15th).
DJ Rich Medina would be spinning like only he can after the live show. So I anticipate it'll be a magical and special way to celebrate and showcase all things Naija.
I would also having a number musical guests perform alongside me on the night, some of whom helped record the album. Come one and all!!

I had a highly productive, fun filled weekend celebrating labour day, in Chicago.
King britt and I were finally able to showcase one of our new joints 'Take Me Away', featured on the forthcoming album, at the Africa HIFI 4th year anniversary party, courtesy of Ron Trent and Sonia H
I was also able to showcase quite a few of my new song's live, with the original musicians I cut them with. A video of the show would be posted on the website shortly.
Music aside, the highlight of my trip proved to be a visit to the Art institute of Chicago, where I got a chance to see the work of my ancestral forbearer's - Benin—Kings and Rituals: Court Arts from Nigeria
A few of the pieces on display were looted treasures from the much talked about British punitive expedition carried out in 1897. More on this later.......

To the many who braved the elements and came through for the summerstage show, I thank ya.
Funny thing was, Nadirah suggested I have a word or two with the God's for the rain to cease, and voila, as the event organizers were about to conceed and cancel, the rain stopped and the masses began to drift in. Suffice to say, we all had such a blast!!!!
